Welcome to The Otter’s Class! We have 8 wonderful SLD pupils who range from P1-P4. We are settling into our back-to-school routines so well and we are working hard during all our group time and lessons. We work off a sensory based curriculum which helps our children to thrive in their environment and reach their full potential.

We love to play together and work hard to enhance our social and communication skills. Our favourite activities are the messiest ones – we love getting the staff involved, too! Our lessons include Literacy, Numeracy, Phonics, Cookery, Attention Autism and TACPAC. We incorporate mindfulness, relaxation and wellbeing throughout our lessons and routines to ensure everyone is safe and happy. We particularly love getting to use the foot spa during TACPAC where the staff pamper us!

We also love time outside to explore freely. We have trips to the park, nursery garden and we have our very own playground with wonderful activities to aid our gross motor skills.

We are working hard this year to promote independence throughout our routines and activities; we are doing so well so far! We cannot wait for what is to come!
